About the Show

Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. Did we mention the bevy of beautiful showgirls? The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony® Awards, including Best Musical, and was followed by two successful West End runs. The outrageous, uproarious, and gloriously entertaining story of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake will delight audiences as they search for the Holy Grail and “always look on the bright side of life.”

About the Cast

  • Ben Hambidge

    KING ARTHUR

Ben ascends the throne as King Arthur, marking his grand debut with HEAP. Hailing from the court of London, Ben brings to the round table a rich history in musical theatre, with a particular penchant for the Gilbert & Sullivan operettas.

His quest for the grail of performance art has led him through diverse realms of stagecraft. Ben’s last stage appearance commanded a worldwide audience of 182 million: providing backing vocals, cloaked as a monk, for Madonna at the Eurovision Song Contest.

It's rumoured that Ben initially came to audition for the elusive role of “Sir Not Appearing in this Show”, but Merlin’s wizardry intervened, gifting him this dream part. He has thoroughly enjoyed horsing around with a bunch of coconuts.

  • Trish Butterfield

VOCAL DIRECTOR / LADY OF THE LAKE

Originally from New Zealand, Trish is hugely passionate about singing and theatre, and prior to moving to the Netherlands she worked for many years as a singer and actor all over the globe. Trish lives in Den Haag with her husband and clingy cat, and works as a Primary school Teaching Assistant and Singing Teacher. She is so excited to be on the stage (and in the creative team) again with HEAP and crossing a dream role off her list!
