We at Happily Ever After Productions are so sorry to hear about the passing of one of our own. He died earlier this week of natural causes and far too soon at 38 years old. We don’t have any more details yet. We were blessed to have Omar in our musical “Working” where he played a delivery boy, a community organizer, a trucker, a customer service operator, a busboy and a composer. In “Little Shop of Horrors” he played a rich and sleazy skid row customer, a dental patient who enjoyed pain way too much, and a William Morris Agent. He was recently cast for our upcoming production of “Avenue Q” as the lead, Princeton. We are heartbroken and shocked by the news. Omar was one of the kindest, most genuine people that I have had the pleasure of meeting. He brought joy to everyone he met.
We feel helpless and want to do anything we can to help his family through this time. We are organizing a celebration of his life on Saturday, November 6 Theater Vrijburt located at Jan Olphert Vaillantlaan 143, 1086 XZ Amsterdam. There is a limited capacity with covid regulations, so please email us if you would like to join. In the meantime an account has been set up to make donations to his family to make costs be the last thing that they need to worry about. Fellow actor and friend of Omar, Sofia, will transfer all donations directly to his family in Mexico.
We will also update this page with stories about and photos of Omar and make a book to send his family, so if you would like to add something please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
